B.Tech (Aeronautical) with Aircraft Maintenance Engineering
B.Tech (Aeronautical) with Aircraft Maintenance Engineering is a dual programme that builds two skill sets together: how aircraft are designed and manufactured (B.Tech Aeronautical) and how they are maintained and certified as safe to fly (AME).
The bachelor's degree is awarded by Sri Satya Sai University of Technology and Medical Sciences (AICTE approved). AME training is delivered by Redwings Aerotechnique Pvt. Ltd. as per DGCA rules and regulations, leading towards the AME licence issued by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, Government of India.

What you get
In a competitive engineering field, good placements are limited. Combining a degree with maintenance training makes candidates more technical and more practical, which helps them stand out when they apply for jobs.
Who should join
- Students who want a recognised engineering degree and a licence-oriented aviation career at the same time.
- Students interested in both aircraft design and hands-on maintenance work.
- Students who want more options after graduation: manufacturing, maintenance organisations, airlines and further study.
Eligibility
- 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) from a recognised board, or an equivalent qualification.
- Medically fit, with no colour blindness, as required for AME training.
Admission
Admission is through AMERAT, the Redwings aptitude test. Register online, take the test online or at the Bhopal campus, and our counsellors will guide you through the next steps.
Compare the programmes
| Programme | You get | Duration / path | Career focus |
|---|---|---|---|
| Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME) | DGCA licence (CAR-66) | Basic training under CAR-147, then practical experience at a CAR-145 organisation | Maintain and certify aircraft as fit to fly |
| B.Tech Aeronautical Engineering | B.Tech degree (AICTE approved) | 4 years, 8 semesters | Design, manufacturing, testing and research |
| Dual programme: AME + B.Tech This page | Degree and AME training together | Combined programme | Both design and maintenance careers |
| Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) | DGCA licence | 4 months ground school + 8 to 12 months flying (200 hours) | Fly commercial aircraft |
AME, B.Tech and the dual programme need 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (or an equivalent diploma); pilot training needs Physics and Mathematics. Admission to all of them is through AMERAT.
