AME fees at a glance
Fees are one of the first questions every family asks, and for good reason: AME is a professional, licence-oriented course with workshops, tools and aircraft-based training. Here is a clear picture of what you can expect to pay at Redwings in Bhopal for the 2027 session.
| Item | Approximate cost | How it is paid |
|---|---|---|
| AMERAT 2027 registration | ₹1,000 | Online, with the application form |
| AME basic training (CAR-147) | ₹4 to 6 lakh in total | Semester-wise, to the institute |
| B.Tech Aeronautical Engineering | About ₹4 to 6 lakh for the full course (varies by university) | Semester-wise |
| Dual programme (AME + B.Tech) | Shared at counselling | Semester-wise |
What the course fee covers
The AME fee pays for basic training under DGCA CAR-147. Basic training combines classroom theory with practical work in workshops, so that you learn both how aircraft systems work and how to handle them safely. It prepares you for the DGCA module examinations in your chosen stream: mechanical (Category A and B1) or avionics (Category B2).
After the academic programme, AME students complete practical maintenance experience on operating aircraft at a DGCA-approved CAR-145 organisation. The Redwings group runs its own DGCA-approved CAR-145 MRO, which keeps training close to real maintenance work.
Costs that are usually separate
Plan for these costs in addition to the course fee, so there are no surprises later:
- DGCA examination fees. Module exams are conducted by DGCA and are paid for separately, module by module.
- Licence application fees. When you apply for your Aircraft Maintenance Engineer licence, the application fee is paid to DGCA.
- Hostel and food, if you are moving to Bhopal from another city.
- Uniform, books and personal tools used in workshops.
- Medical certificate, including a colour vision check.
- Type training on a specific aircraft, which engineers usually take later in their careers.
Scholarships and education loans
The simplest way to reduce your fee is to do well in AMERAT. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of AMERAT merit and other factors discussed at the time of admission. Read the exam pattern and syllabus and practise Class 12 Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics along with English and general awareness.
Many banks offer education loans for professional courses such as AME and B.Tech. Our team can provide the admission letter and fee structure that banks usually ask for. Compare interest rates and repayment terms across banks before you decide.
How to compare AME fees between institutes
AME fees vary across Madhya Pradesh and India. A lower fee is not always the better deal. Before you compare numbers, compare what you get:
- Is the institute approved by DGCA for the course and categories you want?
- Does the fee include practical training, or are there extra charges later?
- Does the institute have access to aircraft and a hangar, or links with a CAR-145 maintenance organisation?
- What support is offered for DGCA module exams and placements?
- What will you spend on hostel, food and travel in that city?
