About AMERAT

AMERAT (Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Redwings Aptitude Test) is the entrance and scholarship test for aviation programmes offered through Redwings. It helps students who are interested in aviation choose the right career path, and it is the route to admission in licence, degree and certification programmes in areas such as flying, engineering and aircraft maintenance.

Students who qualify in AMERAT are eligible for scholarships based on their merit.

Eligibility

  • Passed or appearing in 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics from a recognised board, or
  • An AICTE-approved 3-year engineering diploma, or
  • A higher qualification in science with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics from a recognised university.
AME and pilot training also require medical fitness. For AME, candidates must not be colour blind.

General Awareness

Static GK, general science, books and authors, current affairs and portfolios.

English

Reading comprehension, fill in the blanks, spellings, phrases and idioms, synonyms and antonyms, one-word substitution and sentence correction.

Mathematics

Sets, relations and functions; complex numbers and quadratic equations; matrices and determinants; permutations and combinations; mathematical induction; binomial theorem; sequences and series; limits, continuity and differentiability; integral calculus; differential equations; coordinate geometry (straight lines, circles, conic sections); three-dimensional geometry; vector algebra; statistics and probability; trigonometry; mathematical reasoning.

Physics

Physics and measurement; kinematics; laws of motion; work, energy and power; rotational motion; gravitation; properties of solids and liquids; thermodynamics; kinetic theory of gases; oscillations and waves; electrostatics; current electricity; magnetic effects of current and magnetism; electromagnetic induction and alternating current; electromagnetic waves; optics; dual nature of matter and radiation; atoms and nuclei; electronic devices; communication systems.

Chemistry

Basic concepts; chemical thermodynamics; solutions; equilibrium; redox reactions and electrochemistry; chemical kinetics; surface chemistry; periodic classification; isolation of metals; hydrogen; s-, p-, d- and f-block elements; coordination compounds; purification and characterisation of organic compounds; basic principles of organic chemistry; hydrocarbons; isomerism and IUPAC nomenclature; organic compounds containing halogens, oxygen and nitrogen; polymers.

  • AMERAT registration fee: ₹1,000.

How to register

  1. Open the AMERAT registration form.
  2. Fill in your personal details and your 12th (or diploma) details.
  3. Upload a recent passport-size photograph. This is compulsory.
  4. Pay the ₹1,000 fee online.
  5. Your admit card will be sent to your email and will also be available after you sign in.

Frequently asked questions

Who can apply for AMERAT?
Students who have passed or are appearing in 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, or who hold an AICTE-approved 3-year engineering diploma, or a higher science qualification with PCM.
How many questions are in the exam?
The paper has 100 objective (multiple-choice) questions: 20 each from General Awareness, English, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, for a total of 400 marks.
Is there negative marking?
Yes. Each correct answer earns 4 marks and 1 mark is deducted for each wrong answer.
In which language is the paper?
The question paper is available in both Hindi and English.
Can I take the exam online?
AMERAT is held in online or offline mode. Your admit card will show the mode, date and centre for your exam.
What is the registration fee?
The AMERAT registration fee is ₹1,000, paid online by debit card, credit card, UPI or net banking while submitting the application. Your bank may add a small service charge.
What happens after the result?
